We, The Mountain Runners
Don't think, just move, your feet will find a way.
The less you stop and hesitate the drier your feet stay.
For your body is much smarter, than your brain will ever be,
The instincts that you hold within will allow you to run free.
Empty your busy mind, as you run through mountains tall,
And you'll learn to trust your own to feet to catch your every fall.
Then if an obstacle presents, that causes you some strife,
The motion in your legs that will help preserve your precious life.
Soon running mountain trails, becomes not a chore but a true calling,
So you'll find that you no longer mind the pain that comes with falling.
It is armoured by this lack of fear, we kamikaze down the hills,
Energised by wind and speed and all the trails thrills.
Us souls that dance across the rocks and slide through mud and snow,
Experience a different life, amid mother nature's glow.
We play in any weather, among the peaks and trails,
That teach us many lessons, about what real life entails.
Like that our place upon earth is brittle, like the twigs beneath our feet,
And we will never have complete perspective, of each experience we meet.
These lessons fill our mind, as the mountains fill our soul,
We push our limits up and down them, to make ourselves feel whole.
Us mountain breed are special, and we feel like we have won,
Every time we find a peak, put on our mountain shoes, and run.
